Brilliant ‘Bianchi’ wins the day

Ibrahim S. Jalloh (LCT X) made a bold statement with a marauding performance on stage 1 of the 2025 Fundsmith Tour De Lunsar.

The Sierra Leonean rider, known by everyone in the cycling community as Bianchi, took first place across both the intermediate sprint in Massongbo, and at the KOM of SS Curve.

He then went on to just outsprint Joel Kyaviro (Back Mamba Development Squad) at the stage finish line in Fadugu.

Kyaviro, making his Tour de Lunsar debut, was also second at the KOM and intermediate sprint.

Making up the three man breakaway was Dante Young (Something DFRNT) who fell off the back of the leading group, crossing the line three minutes down on the winning pair.

The break was formed just before Yenkisa, in the early part of the stage. It was the efforts of Young and his fellow American teammate, Andrew Jackson, who took it in turns to set off with a series of attacks. This weakened the peloton, and eventually Young was able to go clear in the company of Jalloh and Kyaviro.

On the mighty SS Curve, Sierra Leone’s highest road climb, Young could not quite keep the pace with the other two riders, and from there it became a one on one duel.

Tomorrow, Joel Kyaviro will wear the Centrus polka diamond jersey, while Dante Young will wear the Konzeptwerk orange sprints jersey.
