Mary Aleper takes blue for Uganda
In the first stage of the women's Fundsmith Tour de Lunsar race presented by Team Africa Rising, Mary Aleper (Black Mamba Development Squad) took a commanding lead in the GC.
Aleper was able to distance the pack during the starting criterium in Lunsar, and the Ugandan never looked back.
She was able to enjoy the moment as she crossed the line solo in front of the iconic Lunsar roundabout.
In the sprint for second, Rebecca Samba (Bo) was fast enough to distance hometown rider, Mbalu Fofanah.
Aleper has a huge lead in terms of time, going into tomorrow, leading by 36 minutes and 53 seconds.
