For the first time, our women’s race will comprise two stages thanks to the increased sponsorship of the event courtesy of Zwift.

The finish will be a straight run through the finish line, with no criterium laps.

Race director, Karim Kamara says:

We are delighted to be able to expand our women’s race to two days thanks to the amazing support of our partners Zwift. This route will establish an overall race leader, before the decisive criterium on stage two.

2023

The Port Loko out-and-back loop has been used by the women’s race for several years. In the last edition, the race came down to a final battle between Roxanne Hargreaves (LCT) and Blessing Jabbie (Kono).

Port Loko

Port Loko is the administrative capital of the Port Loko District (of which Lunsar is one of the main towns). It is well positioned on the road north to the border with Guinea, not to mention being close to Sierra Leone’s international airport at Lungi. The celebrated military leader Bai Bureh was born nearby in the village of Kasseh and he remains closely associated with this area of Sierra Leone.
